The Tennessee College of Applied Technology - Jackson is accepting applications for the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Instructor position. This position will be housed at TCAT Jackson’s BlueOval City Campus but will require some regional travel.
Required Qualifications
Candidate must have a high school diploma or its equivalent. Technical diploma or higher related degree preferred
• Must have current work experience in areas related to manufacturing, engineering, or human resources.
• Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal working relationships with students, faculty, staff, the general public, and business and industry.
• Must possess the organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher.
• Must pass a criminal background check to work with students.
Responsibilities
1. Provide individualized classroom and lab instruction
2. Develop curricula to supplement the computer-based instruction with lab activities and exercises that prepare students for working in an advanced manufacturing environment, including LEAN manufacturing, manufacturing processes, robotics industrial safety, blueprint reading, process automation, quality inspections, and preventive maintenance.
3. Update curriculum as necessary to stay abreast of industry needs.
4. Monitor, grade, and evaluate individual student progress.
5. Utilize the computer record system and other applications as needed.
6. Maintain appropriate student records and submit timely reports.
7. Maintain good public relations with business and industry.
• Primarily sitting using fingers, hands, and arms to reach. Occasional stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Optional standing and walking. Ability to effectively communicate using auditory or visual methods.
• Occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
