Associate Instructor of Pipefitting and Plumbing Technology

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Jackson is accepting applications for an Associate Instructor of Pipefitting and Plumbing. This 12-month, full-time faculty position will be located at the Humboldt Higher Education Instructional Service Center.

Required Qualifications

•     High school diploma or equivalent

•     Post-secondary training in Pipefitting and Plumbing or related field

•     Journeyman Pipefitter/Plumber

•     NCCER Pipe Fitter Certification (preferred)

•     Possess the organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective instructor

•     Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions

•     Strong customer service skills

•     Computer literate


Candidate is responsible for teaching all phases of the program to include theory and practical instruction of the curriculum. Must monitor and evaluate student progress; accurately maintain program and student records.Must maintain an active advisory committee and communicate with business and industry on a regular basis. Other duties include curriculum development and updates, student record keeping, student recruitment, placement and follow-up. Continue personal training and professional development to stay abreast of changes in the industry.
